Three Part Cards
Children continue learning about the items on the Holy Table by engaging in a sequence of activities that move from the simply to more complex. The definitions Booklet is included.

The early childhood curriculum emphasizes the child’s experience in the Church and focuses primarily on Gospel narratives that reveal the life and love of Jesus Christ. Because young children tend to think concretely, the curriculum includes relatively few Old Testament narratives, which may be interpreted too literally at this developmental stage.
The OCSF program centers on helping children develop familiarity with Orthodox prayer and liturgical life. Practicing activities such as making the sign of the cross, venerating icons, singing hymns, participating in simple liturgical responses, and learning the names of the liturgical items as seen in the Church helps children develop a sense of reverence and belonging within the worshiping community.
The OCSF program seeks to cultivate this sense of belonging by fostering early experiences of prayer, worship, and participation in the life of the Church.

Labels for Items
